Bio
Reitse van der Wekken is a project manager at Allseas, a leading contractor in the global offshore energy market, where he manages innovative offshore platform decommissioning and installation projects, mostly located in the North Sea in Europe. He lives with his wife and two children in the city of Delft in The Netherlands, and if not reading or writing or relaxing with his family and friends, you might find him at sea doing offshore sailing. He endeavoured in more than two decades of interest in and writing about project objectives management, a topic that highly interests and challenges him daily as a project management professional.
In 1996, he received a master's degree in mechanical engineering at the Delft University of Technology in The Netherlands. After that, he worked as a project manager on international projects at German multinational Siemens, delivering automation, control, and electrical systems for harbor cranes. Reitse started experiencing and exploring various challenges with project targets and expectations from internal and external stakeholders while working at a project supplier. He became a senior project manager within three years in China, where he experienced other perspectives on stakeholders and project objectives, and finally manager of the cranes project management department in The Netherlands.
Driven by a long-term interest in offshore engineering and construction, Reitse moved on to Allseas in 2012. Since then, he has continued researching and writing about project objectives management.
